Greetings! We invite your community to join us for a morning of waterfront stewardship every May on a Sunday morning before Memorial Day weekend. We are the St. Clair Shores Waterfront Environmental Committee, a city community organization made up of resident volunteers dedicated to maintaining a cleaner and safer lake. Our enthusiastic group conducts an annual coast clean-up of our city's public waterfront, and we would like to extend our resources to you, our city's canal residents.
We encourage homeowner groups to participate that morning in a clean-up of their respective canals alongside their neighbors. Our teams are available to remove large debris or objects from your canal or beach and can coordinate curbside debris pickup.
We kindly ask for your commitment in advance to assist us in our planning.
Our event headquarters will be at the Jefferson Yacht Club (JYC), where we will start at 8 a.m. with breakfast and announcements. We encourage your attendance! After the clean-up, volunteers are invited back for lunch, music, and celebration at noon.
The St. Clair Shores Waterfront Environmental Committee hopes you will gather your neighbors and join us for our annual keystone event. If you're aware of any large debris prior to event day, please inform us as soon as possible so we can plan for its removal. Additionally, we would like to recognize your commitment by featuring your HOA on our website and in our social media posts. Please let us know if you prefer to keep your participation private.
Our HOA Ambassador is ready to receive your commitment or provide more information about this year's clean-up. Please use the contact form here (preferred) or reach us via our organizational inbox: contact@scswec.org.
Thank you, and we look forward to working together for a cleaner waterfront!
Our annual clean-up every May focuses on public waterfronts, and we want to support our private shorelines best we can. We can arrange resources and volunteers for your community but even a commitment to a clean lake is enough!
